Gifted Education
The Garfield Heights City School District is committed to providing appropriate, comprehensive and rigorous curriculum for all students at all levels. According to reports published by both ACT and The College Board, the rigor of a student’s high school curriculum is the best predictor of success in college. For this reason, the district offers students the opportunity to enroll in Advanced Placement Courses. AP courses provide the level of rigor that best prepares students for post-secondary success. Students who perform well on AP exams may also earn college credit and advanced placement while, at the same time, establishing themselves as competitive college applicants. The AP Courses offered in the district qualify as gifted services as defined by the Ohio Department of Education.
